This is my first video recording my inking process using a Wacom Intuos 3 and Photoshop CS6 Beta. This took approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to finish but it is sped up to under 2 minutes. Try not to get dizzy as I use the rotate canvas feature and Ctrl+Z a LOT!

Dave is on Tumblr now! You may recognize his art from the Big Bang Theory piece I posted a few days ago. Check out his Tumblr and give him a follow if you’re into it!

Tom Waits Interview (1979)

Heath Ledger’s inspiration for The Joker in The Dark Knight. Its uncanny.

A few days ago I decided to purchase a ticket to a movie called Save The Date. I looked at the cast and knew I couldn’t go wrong with Lizzy Caplan on deck. I finally watched the film last night and was more than surprised by what I saw. The director and some of the cast/crew were there to present the film and do a Q&A. The director, Michael Mohan, introduced the film by saying that it was based on a story by graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown. My jaw instantly dropped.

I’ve been a long time fan of Jeffrey’s work and have personally known him for the past 5 years or so. But, I had NO IDEA he’d written a movie. His artwork, drawn by Lizzy’s character (Sarah), in the movie was surreal to see. The charm and sensibilities of his comics really show through in this movie. I couldn’t believe I was actually watching his graphic novels come to life on the big screen.

If you don’t know who Jeffrey Brown is and enjoy indie cinema, pick up a copy of Clumsy, you won’t disappointed. If you’re already a fan, then you’re definitely going to want to see Save The Date. Word on the street is there may be a special screening at San Diego Comic-Con this summer (Fingers crossed).

Ultimate Spider-Man, Volume 1. I haven’t read anything by Bendis in a long time. This was a good read, though. I like the new dynamic of a Spider-Man that never lost his parents, but witnessed the loss of Peter Parker. I’m interested to see where the story goes.
